Continuing the City Centre 20th Anniversary celebrations whilst fostering the Ramadan spirit of solidarity and generosity, City Centres in the Northern Emirates gave back to children and families in need, creating great moments, for everyone, everyday.
To partake in a fun-filled evening, City Centre Ajman invited 20 children from the Human Appeal International—the humanitarian, non-governmental organisation that aims to improve the circumstances of communities in need—whilst City Centre Fujairah invited 20 children from Mawalif Society, the Emirati volunteer organisation which supports the underprivileged.
On June 20th, the children visited City Centres Ajman and Fujairah and participated in fun face-painting activities, received tickets to the rewarding adventure in the large entertainment centre: Magic Planet and received complimentary treats from McDonald’s restaurants.
At City Centre Fujairah, thrill-seekers took their pick from the infamous Robo Coaster, Sky Trail and climbing wall, as well as the exciting XD Theatre Dark Ride and the simulator. Little ones tried the Ferris wheel, trampolines and bumper cars, and everyone went home with five complimentary tickets to invite their friends and family.
Fuad Mansoor Sharaf, Senior Director of Property Management at Majid Al Futtaim – Properties said: “The Holy Month is a time to reflect on kindness, solidarity and generosity. As we continue to mark our 20th anniversary, we are proud to create great moments and hope the Northern Emirates City Centres can continue to make a positive difference in our communities.”
Also spearheading the ‘gift of giving,’ on June 20th: City Centre Sharjah elevated the spirit of solidarity and compassion amongst the community in donating gifts to families in need through Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation. The foundation is an independent governmental organisation for orphans in Sharjah: an organisation from the Supreme Council of Family Affairs and part of Sharjah Humanitarian City, taking care of more than 2200 orphans.
Munira Omar -- Associate Director of Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation -- said, “We work towards reinforcing the role of the private sector in supporting sons who lost their fathers by enhancing the capabilities of UAE citizens. The support of City Centre Sharjah is a clear sign of their ongoing support in social responsibility, thus creating an effective social partnership.”
The City Centre visited the foundation and provided gift bags for the families in need, with donations including charity hampers filled with vouchers from Chowking & McDonalds, at City Centre Sharjah, along with non-perishable food items such as rice, sugar, dates and tea bags.
